What is the parking situation?
Parking is available on the street at meters and is free on the weekends.
For guests of the Lord Nelson, you'll find the underground heated parking is conveniently connected to the hotel next to the main entrance. Self Park is $19.95 plus tax per night, and Valet Parking is $23.95 plus tax per night.

Is there a ticket I am supposed to bring with me?
Yes. Print off and bring your ticket from Eventbrite, found here.

Will there be books available to buy at the event?
Yes, there will be books to buy at the event. A complete list will be posted before the event.

I already have a copy of a book I'd like to have signed. Can I bring it with me?
Sure! You are more than welcome to bring books you already own.

Is there a place to hang out with the authors before or after the event?
At this time, the only meet & greet opportunity with authors is at the actual signing event, from 11AM-5PM. Individual authors may be organizing separate events before or after the Halifax Author Event, but that is up to each of them. If you are interested in something like that, please contact the author directly, or watch our Facebook event page for other informal events that may come from the event.

I'm an author who isn't participating in the event, but would like to leave swag for fans. Do you have a place I'd be able to leave it?
No. Unfortunately, we won't have any room to add a table for author swag.
Are there any other sites to see in Halifax while I'm attending the event?
The Halifax Public Gardens are just across the street from the Lord Nelson Hotel. We are also walking distance to the Waterfront, Spring Garden shopping, and Citadel Historic site. More information on tourism in Halifax can be found here, at destinationhalifax.com
